Western Europe 3D Printer 2013 Market Analysis and 2014–2018 Forecast
This IDC study examines the Western European 3D printer market, split into desktop and professional segments. 2013 vendor shares with unit shipments and value are provided for each of the 16 countries, along with a review of vendor activities. In addition, long-range forecasts provide expectations for units, values, and average sales values (ASV) in each market and category for the next five years. Key forecast assumptions are identified with the factors accelerating and inhibiting the various technology segments.
"3D printers will not just expand the market — they will also change the way manufacturing will be carried out in the future. Additive and traditional manufacturing will coexist in the next few years, and 3D printing will not replace conventional manufacturing in the forecast period," said Julio Vial, research manager, IDC Imaging, Printing, and Document Solutions. Please Note: Extended description available upon request.
