Home Furnishing Wholesaling in the US - Industry Market Research Report
Description
Home Furnishing Wholesaling in the US
The Home Furnishing Wholesaling industry has declined over the five years to 2023 as the value of private residential and nonresidential construction has fallen while e-commerce sales, which facilitate sales that bypass wholesalers, have risen. Declines in the value of construction slow the development of new houses and decrease demand for home furnishings to decorate them. While the industry was buoyed from the worst of the pandemic by boosted investment in home improvement, large inflation-related drops in 2022 and 2023 offset any previous gains. As a result, revenue has fallen an annualized 1.5% to $74.1 billion over the five years to 2023, including a decline of 2.7% in 2023 alone.
This industry wholesales a broad range of furnishings for homes, including carpets, curtains, floor coverings, kitchen utensils, rugs and window shades. Wholesalers purchase goods from domestic and international manufacturers and then sell them to department stores, furnishing specialty shops and other businesses. This industry excludes furniture wholesaling.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares."
