Senegal Market Spotlight
Senegal continues to benefit from strong foreign investment levels, infrastructure development, and rising agricultural productivity, all of which support a healthy outlook. Nonetheless, growth is expected to slow slightly in 2019 and 2020 owing to strained government finances and slightly weaker consumer spending growth caused by higher inflation and lower energy subsidies. Although pro-business reforms contribute to a generally bright outlook for the private sector, MNCs should be mindful of rising political tensions, stiffer competition, and operational difficulties that could affect prospects over the coming year.
