Belgium’s population will continue to grow over the next twenty years. The drivers for this growth are inward migration, coupled with slow but positive natural population growth. The population is ageing steadily – life expectancy and the old age dependency ratio are set to rise further. The foreign-born population is growing more rapidly than the population born in Belgium. All ten of the largest cities will grow between 2010 and 2030, with Brussels experiencing the most rapid growth.
