- DIAGONAL REPORTS STATEMENT
AbstractChinese women want flawless skin and have exacting standards. This pursuit of perfect skin has created a huge market for products and treatments. More recently, consumers have enthusiastically embraced aesthetic medicine as a very effective way of delivering desired outcomes - blemish-free skin and altered facial features (eyes) or enhanced body parts.
Demand outstrips supply. Sales are forecast to increase by 40% over the next three years alone. Buyers of medicalised beauty remain cautious as industry regulations have not kept up with technology developments. The premium segment is the reference point and these clinics and their consumers want foreign technology and brands which can offer quality guarantees.
