RWE Innogy UK Ltd (RWE) is undertaking the development of a wind farm in North Wales, the UK.
The project involves the construction of a 96MW wind farm on a 1,463ha area. It will include the construction of a substation and other related facilities, the installation of 32 wind turbines of 2-3MW each and with a maximum tip height of 145m, transformers, generators, safety and security systems, and the laying of transmission lines.
In 2008, RWE secured rights to seek planning permission to develop the project and detailed studies, including environmental and technical assessments were initiated.
In October 2009, RWE issued draft proposals to the public. In December 2010, RWE published Statement of Community Consultation.
In October 2013, RWE submitted a planning application to the Infrastructure Planning Commission and secured approval in September 2014.
RWE is awaiting a decision on the current grid application.
