PGE Elektrownia Belchatów S.A. (PGE), a subsidiary of Polska Grupa Energetyczna, is planing to upgrade the second unit of Belcahatow coal-fired power plant in Lódz Voivodeship, Poland.

In November 2013, Emerson Process Management (EMR) was awarded a contract to provide automation technology and services for the project. EMR will serve as both the main automation contractor and the main electrical contractor.

Alstom Poland has been appointed as EPC "turnkey" contractor.

The old power plant was commissioned till December 31, 2015. Later unit 2 of the plant was decommissioned and permanently taken out of service.
