Manifest Frontier Sdn Bhd (MFSB), a joint venture of Empangan Sejati Sdn Bhd (ESSB) and Perak Hydro Renewable Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd (PHREC), is planning to undertake the Hydroelectric Power Plant project in Perak, Malaysia.

The project involves the construction of a 15MW hydroelectric power plant. It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a storage tank and substations, the installation of turbines, generators and safety systems and the laying of transmission lines.

In June 2013, PJBumi Bhd has received a letter of award from Manifest Frontier Sdn Bhd for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works for the project.

In November 2014, the project received feed-in tariff (FIT) approval from the Sustainable Energy Development Authority of Malaysia.

MFSB is planning to sign a 21-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with local utility Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).

In July 2015, PPA agreement activities and survey works on the project are underway.

As of December 2016, project study report is under review by the planning authority.

MFSB is waiting for the necessary approvals to commence works in the first quarter of 2018.
