Athena Kynshi Power Private Ltd (AKPPL) is planning to undertake the Kynshi I Hydroelectric Plant project in Meghalaya, India.
The project involves the construction of a 270MW (2x135) hydroelectric plant.
The project will include the construction of a 58.1m high dam, powerhouse, substation, 1.85km long & 3.6m diameter pressure tunnel, another 2.5km long 5.25m diameter tunnel, laying of transmission lines, and the installation of turbines and generators.
Energy Infratech Pvt. Ltd (Energy Infratech) has been appointed to provide commissioning services including pre-feasibility studies, pre-construction stage investigations, preparation of detailed project report, environmental studies including EIA and EMP reports.
Energy Infratech has completed pre-feasibility studies and has prepared a pre-feasibility report for the project.
In May 2008, the Terms of Reference (ToR) were approved by Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF). The geological mapping of the dam area has been completed.
ABIR Constructions Pvt. Ltd (ABIR) has been appointed to conduct the site investigation works; ABIR to construct all the new roads and pathways including strengthening of old roads and pathways for stability of works; and Tojo-Vikas International (Pvt.) Ltd to undertake the Topographic Survey.
AEMPL has been appointed as lead consultant to provide engineering consultancy services for preparation of pre-feasibility report (PFR), detailed project report (DPR), tender design and assistance in award of EPC Contract.
Project is awaiting environment and forest clearances.
Scope
The project involves the construction of a 270MW (2x135) hydroelectric plant in Meghalaya, India.
