Japan SMB ERP Software Market Shares, 2015: Improvement in the IT Support Enhancement of the Customer Business
This IDC study analyzes market share based on vendors' actual factory revenue in 2015 for enterprise resource planning (ERP) software market that targets Japanese companies with fewer than 1,000 employees. The Japan small and medium-sized business (SMB) ERP software market consists of financial applications market, human capital management (HCM) and payroll applications market, and order management applications market. In 2015, the Japan SMB ERP software market was affected by the backlash from high growth it achieved in the previous year through PC replacements and other factors. Nevertheless, the market still grew steadily because of HCM and payroll systems that are related to the My Number system. "The Japan SMB market tends to have more companies in smaller company-size segment, complex sales channels, but insufficient information, such as on the latest technology. Thus, IT suppliers involved in ERP should provide wide-ranging support and services, as well as build continuous relationship with their customers to compensate the knowledge and skills lacking in SMBs. It is also the time to redefine existing channel utilization in the future using software as a service (SaaS) with excellent operability, along with aiming at stepping up customers' system security by active collaboration with security vendors," says Yoko Motai, market analyst, Software and Security Group, IDC Japan.
