Japan Business Service 2014-2018 Forecast and 2013 Review: 1H14
This IDC study explores situations and trends in the Japan business consulting market and the Japan key horizontal business process outsourcing (BPO) service market by key horizontal business function (i.e., HR, customer care, F&A, and procurement). It also summarizes the results of the Japan Business Services User Survey conducted in September 2014 by IDC to identify trends in user needs.
Business recovery has put both the business consulting and BPO services segments of the Japan business services market on the positive growth track. In 2013–2014, the expansion pace accelerated. For 2015 and beyond, we believe the overall market will slow down somewhat but many segments will continue to enjoy firm growth.
"As companies seek revenue growth/innovation, the importance of globalization and "3rd Platform" support as growth accelerators in the Japan business consulting market will increase. In the Japan BPO services market, needs for services aimed at improving the efficiency of existing business processes and creating resources (transformation-related needs) will surface. However, IDC envisages that BPO services will also be leveraged for revenue growth/innovation in the medium to long term, and believes that vendors need to make the necessary preparations," says Takuya Uemura, market analyst, IT Services, IDC Japan.
