Cybersecurity is of paramount importance to ensure smooth business operations and should be embedded as part of the organization's digital transformation strategies. With cyberattacks on the rise, many organizations are focusing on cybersecurity as one of the top priorities. While the desire to achieve cybersecurity excellency is alike, small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) face a different set of challenges from enterprises when rolling out security initiatives.In this IDC Perspective, we discuss some of the security challenges faced by SMBs in the Asia/Pacific region."While SMBs strive to go digitize and digitalize, they need to understand that the size of the business does not make them immune toward cyber threats," says Jeff Xie, senior market analyst, Security and Blockchain Research of IDC Asia/Pacific. "The traditional approach toward cyber threats are not as effective and SMBs must learn to adopt new strategies to keep the systems and information safe," adds Xie.
