A-Share Listed Power Grid Automation Companies - Profiles and Financial Data
Since 2014, China has been stepping up the development of power grid automation, an important sub-field of power automation. CAGR of investment in grid automation from 2014 to 2015 was over 80%. The market size of the grid automation was CNY 3.5 billion, CNY 5 billion and CNY 8 billion in 2013, 2014 and 2015, respectively, and has huge potential to grow in the next few years, according to CRI.
By the end of 2015, total length of power transmission lines of 220kv and above had amounted to 609,100 km, increasing by 5.46% YOY over 2014. The capacity of transformation facilities of 220 kV and above was 3.366 billion kVA, increasing by 8.86% YOY. Completed investment in the development of power grid projects was CNY 464 billion, increasing by 12.64% YOY. Ten percent of the investment was in extra-high voltage AC/DC projects, which amounted to CNY 46.4 billion. In 2015, following Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Construction and Transformation of Power Grid and Action Plan for the Construction and Transformation of Power Grid, 2015-2020, the Chinese government allocated CNY 13 billion to fund construction and transformation projects of urban grids, attracting another CNY 114 billion investment. CNY 162.8 billion was put into rural grid transformation, CNY 28.2 billion of which was part of the central fiscal budget.
