This IDC Insight discusses the scope of sign shops in the digital signage market. Recent IDC survey data reveals some very interesting opinions about where companies prefer and intend to source digital signage products. While many potential sources for digital signage systems are cited, one important source is seemingly excluded: the sign shop. On the heels of the failure of other high-profile digital signage entries from the sign market, this research begs the question about whether sign shops have done enough to carve a space for sign companies to play a role in the digital signage market.
