Abstract

A New Industrial Report on Global Aerospace Corporations from Engalco

This report presents financial data and supporting critiques on a selection of 26 major aerospace (generally defense and space) corporations. All the data, mostly presented in chart format, are based upon the best available information at the time of release (July 2005). The corporations have been selected on the basis of significant microwave systems/modules capabilities and Engalco has included the highest quality critiques and interpretations in each case. Engalco's Senior Researcher, Terry Edwards, has 20 years of experience in this type of research on dynamic high-tech industry segments. Engalco is now well known for providing industry and market data reports in related fields, such as microwave products for defense and SATCOM applications.

Given the increasing importance of defense and space technologies we consider that this industrial report on appropriate global aerospace corporations is particularly timely.

The report provides two main classes of information:
  • Information that is completely new and not available at all in the public domain (principally all the critiques and the data on R&D intensities);
  • Corporate data that has been extracted from annual reports but has never been presented in this format (particularly the corporate financial data).
A total of 211 charts have been generated, including many for every company profiled. In the majority of instances these charts cover the period 2001 to 2004.

Format of Information:

The general format of material on each corporation is as follows (financial data is generally presented and critiqued for the 2001 to 2004 period):
  • Contacting information;
  • A summary of product types - the company's operations and line-up of available types of products;
  • The company's structure and subsidiaries (usually including an organization tree);
  • A presentation and critique of the company's main financial indicators (sales revenues, net income and net profit or loss margin);
  • The revenue breakdown by operating sector (where available*), plus a critique;
  • The average growth rates by operating sector or product type (where available*), plus a critique;
  • Sales revenues by product types (where available*), plus a critique;
  • Sales revenues by geographic region (where available*), together with a critique;
  • The corporation's employment history (where available*), also critiqued;
  • The corporation's R&D expenditure (where available*) and R&D Intensity history, plus a critique;
  • Information and comments relating to recent acquisitions, cited competitors, operational risks (according to availability* and especially regarding material and component supplies).
All financial data has been converted to US$ using averages covering each year considered.

* In most instances these data are available.

You need your copy of this report so that you can examine in detail the status of highly competitive major aerospace players that are active in substantially changing technology market scenarios that have RF and microwave features
