The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) is planning to undertake the construction of the hydro electric power plant in Pakistan.
The project involves the construction of an 80MW hydro power plant. It includes the construction of a dam and a powerhouse and the installation of four turbines, generators and transmission lines.
A Joint Venture of FHC Consulting Engineer, Electra Consultants, Techno-Consult International and Aecom (formerly URS Corporation (Scott Wilson Group Plc)) has been appointed as a design consultant.
In October 2010, a consultancy agreement for detailed engineering design and preparation of tender documents was signed between WAPDA (Hydro) Planning and Phandar Hydro Consultants joint venture.
In March 2013, the consultant submitted a soft-copy of final draft documents (detailed engineering design and tender documents).
In May 2017, detailed engineering design has been completed. WAPDA is awaiting approvals from the Ministry of Water and Power.
The project involves the construction of an 80MW hydroelectric power plant on Ghizar River near Phandar lake and Chhashi Gol, near the Chhashi, Pakistan.
