The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) is planning to construct a hydroelectric power plant near Skardu in Pakistan.
The project involves the construction of a 40MW hydroelectric power plant. It includes the construction of a dam, a powerhouse, a substation and a transmission grid, the installation of three horizontal type Pelton turbines, generators, transformers, safety and security systems, and the laying of transmission lines.
Agence Française de Development (AFD) provided funding for the study of the project.
On May 28, 2011, AFD appointed a joint venture of SOGREAH Consultants SAS and FHC Consulting Engineers to undertake a feasibility study and engineering designs for the project.
On May 4, 2012, a final feasibility report was submitted to the Ministry of Water & Power, Pakistan.
Engineering design works completed. The project is awaiting for approvals from the Ministry of Water & Power, Pakistan.
The project involves the construction of a 40MW hydroelectric power plant on Basho Lungma, a tributary of the Indus River, near Skardu, Pakistan.
