US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) along with Zeenni’s Trading Agency (ZTA), is planning to undertake the construction of a concentrated solar power (CSP) plant in Lebanon.
The project involves the construction of CSP plant with a capacity of 50MW.
The project will include the construction of a powerhouse, a substation and related facilities, the installation of solar panels and generators, and the laying of transmission lines.
The plant will use concentrated photovoltaic lenses or mirrors with tracking systems to focus a large area of sunlight into a small beam.
In June 2010, USTDA has invited proposal data from interested firms to develop a feasibility study.
