Sakata Port Mega-solar Park G.K. (SPMSP), a joint venture between Japan Renewable Energy Corporation and Sakata Port Recycle Industry Center is planning to build a solar power plant in Sakata-shi, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan.

On April 17, 2017, Shinsei Bank, Ltd arranged the project finance of US$68 million from Kirayaka Bank, Ltd., The Shonai Bank, Ltd and The Yamagata Bank, Ltd.
