The Sarawak State Government, through a subsidiary called Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB), is planning to construct the Pelagus Hydroelectric Power Plant project in Malaysia.

The project involves the construction of a 410MW hydroelectric dam. It includes the construction of spillway, headrace and tail?race tunnels, shafts, access roads and the installation of gates and dam controlling system.

The Entura (former Hydro Tasmania) has been appointed as the study consultant to undertake the technical and financial studies of the project. Norconsult has been appointed as the consultant for the project.

In February 2014, SEB has called for companies to submit prequalification applications to develop the dam with a submission deadline of April 14, 2014. The pre-qualification applications are for main civil works (dam and spillway) and electrical and mechanical works (powerhouse civil works).

SEB is in process of reviewing options to develop the project.

The project involves the construction of a 410MW hydroelectric plant in the upper Rejang River basin in Malaysia.

The US$690 million project includes the following:
