Pacific Future Energy Corporation (PFEC), with full partnership of First Nations is planning to undertake the construction of a bitumen refinery in British Columbia, Canada.
The project will be developed in full partnership with First Nations.
The project involves the construction of a bitumen refinery with an initial processing capacity of 200,000 barrels per day (BPD) of bitumen, and will be capable of producing up to 1 million BPD when fully operational.
The project will include the construction of metering stations, a processing facility, storage facilities and related facilities, the installation of equipment, safety and security systems, and the laying of pipelines.
The project also include the construction of a new railway yard with seven tracks with a total track length of 20.9km having a petroleum storage capacity of 860,043 m3.
In July 2015, SNC Lavalin International Inc. (SNC) and A-in-Chut Business Group (ABG) were appointed to undertake the engineering study activities. SNC also appointed as EPC contractor.
In January 2016, the detail project proposal was submitted to the federal and provincial regulators to commence the public conversation about our project.
On August 12, 2016, Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) has commenced an environmental assessment (EA) on the project.
EA on the project is underway. Subject to approval, construction activities are scheduled to be completed in 2021.
