Petronet LNG (PETRONET) is planning to undertake the construction of a regasification terminal near Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The project involves the construction of a regasification terminal with a capacity of one million tonne per annum (MTPA). It includes the construction of storage facilities, processing units and related infrastructure, the installation of the machinery, equipment, control units, safety and security systems.
In May 2017, an agreement has been reached between the Governments of India, Sri Lanka and Japan to set up the LNG terminal.
Planing activities are underway.
The project involves the construction of a regasification terminal with a capacity of 1MTPA in Kerewalapitiya the suburb Wattala near Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The US$250 million project includes the following:
