Petragen Canada Inc (PCI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Renovalia Energy S.A. is undertaking the construction of a wind farm near Medicine Hat, in Alberta province of Canada.
The project involves construction of a 120MW capacity wind farm. It includes the construction of powerhouse, installation of 60 Gamesa G90 2MW turbines on 3561ha and Tothill 219S Substation, and installation of 1km of 34.5-kV collector system consisting of underground and overhead power lines to connect the existing line of Alberta Transmission Grid. The wind turbines will be supplied by Gamesa.
On May 27, 2014, PCI filed Application with the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) requesting approval of a time extension, from June 30, 2014 to December 31, 2016, in order to complete construction of the power plant and substation.
On June 11, 2014, AUC approved the time extension application filed by the PCI.
Alberta Electricity System Operator (AESO) approved Pteragen’s proposal of two year extension for the project’s completion date.
In July 2016, PCI applied to AUC for a two-year extension to the construction completion date i.e. from December 2016 to December 31, 2018.
On October 17, 2016, AUC approved the two-year (Dec. 31, 2016 to Dec. 31, 2018) time extension application filed by the PCI.
