North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) is undertaking the construction of Pare Hydro Electric Project in Arunachal Pradesh, India.
The project involves the construction of 110MW (2x55MW) hydroelectric power plant.
The project includes the construction of a concrete diversion dam of 78m height, head race tunnel (HRT) of 7.5m diameter (Modified Horse Shoe Shape Tunnel) and 2.81km length and a powerhouse, and the installation of two 55MW vertical Francis turbine units.
On December 11, 2008, NEEPCO signed a loan agreement of US$102 million with KfW, Germany.
The central government of India will provide US$38.61 million as equity and remaining have been funded through external borrowings.
In September 2009, Hindustan Construction Co. Ltd (HCC) was appointed as the EPC contractor.
In February 2011, ANDRITZ HYDRO received a contract to deliver the equipment for the project. The scope of supply comprises design, delivery, installation, and commissioning of the complete electromechanical equipment, including two vertical Francis turbines (output 55MW each), generators, main inlet valves, control and protection system, power and control cables, and additional equipment.
AREVA T&D India Ltd has been appointed for the supply of a switchyard and transformers package.
On December 22, 2017, NEEPCO signed a loan agreement of US$24 million with KfW, Germany.
Construction works are underway and scheduled to commissioned in February 2017.
Scope
The project involves the construction of 110MW (2x55MW) hydro electric power plant on Dikrong River in Papumpare district, Arunachal Pradesh, India.
The US$209 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of a 55MW hydro electric power plant in unit I
2. Construction of a 55MW hydro electric power plant in unit II
