The Ministry of Electricity & Energy (MoEE), Egypt is planning to undertake the Qena Steam Thermal Power Plant project in Egypt.
The project involves the construction of a 1,300MW (2x650MW) steam power plant. It will include the construction of a powerhouse, a substation and access roads, the installation of turbines, generators and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.
The project is planned to be developed under design-build-fund-operate-transfer (DBFOT) pattern.
In March 2016, MoEE signed an agreement with Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) to develop the project.
