Summary

Minister of Electricity & Energy (MoEE) is planning to construct the Mocha Wind Farm project in Mocha, Yemen.

Funding for the project is acquired from Arab Fund for Social and Economic Development an amount of US$65 million, US$20 million from OPEC Fund for International Development and another US$20 million from Saudi Fund for Development as grant.

Feasibility Study of the project is done by Ingeniería Estudios y Proyectos Nip S.A. In January 2015, MoEE issued tender for the design, manufacture, supply, erection, connection to the grid, commissioning and operation contract with May 10th, 2015 as the submission deadline.

The bids submission deadline was extended to June 14th, 2015. However, the tender has been cancelled as no offers were submitted on the dead line and due to political unrest in Yemen.
