The Ministry of Energy, Laos (MoE) is planning to undertake the development of the Nam Mo Hydroelectric Power Plant at in Xiengkhouang province of Laos.
The project involves the construction of a hydroelectric power plant of a 70MW.
It will include the construction of a 254m high earth fill dam, powerhouse and a substation, the installation of transformers, turbines and generators, and the laying of transmission lines.
Vietnam's EVN International signed a MoU with MoE for conducting a feasibility study. Feasibility study of the project commenced in May 2010 and completed at the end of 2012.
Project is expected to be completed by 2020.
