Kirahon Solar Energy Corporation (KSEC) a joint venture partnership with Solar Pacific Energy Corp. and Mindanao Energy Systems Inc (Minergy) is planning to develop the Solar Power Plant in Mindanao, the Philippines.
The project involves the construction of a solar power plant with the capacity of 20MW on a 40ha area. It will be developed in two phases with 10MW in each phase (10MW AC net installed capacity or a gross installed capacity of 12.5MW DC).
The project will include the construction of a powerhouse, a substation and other related facilities, the installation of solar panels, transformers and generators, and the laying of transmission lines.
In March 2015, construction works commenced on the first phase of the project.
In June 2015, CEPALCO and KSEC entered into a 25-year Power Supply Agreement (PSA) for the second phase of the project.
On August 11, 2015, CEPALCO and KSEC filed an application for approval of PSA for the second phase.
In October 2015, the first phase of the project began operations, although the inauguration took place in March 2016.
Planning activities on the second phase are underway.
The project involves the construction of a 20MW solar power plant in Mindanao, the Philippines.
