Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is undertaking the development of second phase of Jurassic gas field in Kuwait.
The project involves the development of an oil field with a production capacity of 350,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd).
It includes fabrication work, the construction of a shipyard, topsides, substructure work, a storage yard, a chimney and a feed tank, and the installation of safety and security systems, and the laying of pipelines.
Flour Daniels has been appointed as the design consultant for the project.
In September 2014, Shell, BP, Total, ExxonMobil and Chevron were shortlisted for a five-year consultancy contract. KOC is expected to issue a tender for consultancy contract in early 2016.

The contract covers development of the Jurassic reservoirs of the onshore East Raudhatain, West Raudhatain, West Sabriya and Umm Niqa fields in the northeast.
The work is divided into three packages each aimed at producing 40,000bpd and costing an estimated combined total of US$1,170 million.
In January 2016, Schlumberger was awarded a US$480 million contract to develop the Sabriyah and Umm Niqa fields.
Black & Veatch has been awarded as the contract for the licensing technology and related services for sulphur recovery units (SRU) and Acid Gas Removal Units (AGRU). It also involves from front-end engineering design to operation and maintenance support.
In December 2016, Schlumberger Ltd and Spetco International Petroleum Co was awarded a US$758 million contract to develop the East Raudhatain fields.
PETROCIL Engineers & Consultants has been appointed to undertake Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) works.
