ENMAX Generation Portfolio Inc., (ENMAX), a subsidiary of ENMAX Corporation is planning to build a wind farm in Taber, Alberta, Canada.

The project involves the construction of a wind farm with generation capacity up to 200MW. It includes the construction of a substation, access roads and the installation of 90 to 135m tall wind towers, 50 to 70 turbines, generators and transformers, and the laying of the transmission lines.

On October 19, 2016, ENMAX held public consultation sessions on the project and is in the ENMAX is in the middle -stages of environmental studies.

Subject to the completion of environmental studies, ENMAX is expected to submit its first phase application to the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) with preliminary details on proposed turbine layouts and the project boundary. And that of second phase will proceed with the final selection of wind turbines, turbine layout, continued environmental studies and detailed engineering.

Subject to planning, EBMAX is expected to begin public consultations on the final design in the second quarter of 2017, and if approved and a contract is set to be awarded.

Construction on the wind farm is expected to start in 2018 and expected to complete and start operations by end of 2019.
