Energean Israel Ltd (EIL), a subsidiary of Energean Oil & Gas S.A., is planning to develop a natural gas field in Mediterranean Sea, Israel.
The project involves the construction of a natural gas field. It includes the construction of storage facilities, processing facilities, offshore platforms, related infrastructure and the installation of a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit with 400 mmscf/day capacity, laying of a dry gas pipeline connecting the field to the Israeli natural gas transmission system.
In February 2017, TechnipFMC was awarded a Concept and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contract for the project.
On February 15, 2017, EIL has teamed up with the private equity fund manager Kerogen Capital, which committed to invest in the development of the Karish and Tanin gas fields.
In May 2017, EIL signed gas sale deals for its Karish and Tanin gas fields with Dalia Power and Or Power to supply 23bcm of natural gas to Israeli power stations.
On June 20, 2017, EIL submitted the Field Development Plan (FDP) for the Karish and Tanin natural gas fields to the Israeli Petroleum Commissioner and received approval in August 2017.
In January 2018, Stena Drilling has been appointed as drilling contractor for the project.
Construction activities are slated for completion by 2021.
