Summary
Agus 3 Hydropower Corporation (Agus3HC), a joint venture between Tranzen Group Inc. and Lanao Hydropower Development Corp, is planning to undertake the Agus 3 hydroelectric power plant project in the Philippines.
The project involves the construction of a 250MW hydroelectric power plant on 80ha area. It will include the construction of a dam, a powerhouse, substations, pen-stocks, head and tailrace tunnels, and related facilities, the installation of turbines, transformers and generators, and the laying of transmission lines.
Development Bank of China will provide US$500 million for the construction of the project and China Gezhouba Group Company Ltd (CGGC) has been appointed as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor.
DSGlobal has been appointed as environmental consultant and Engineering and Development Corporation of the Philippines (EDCOP) as study consultant.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held in April 2010; however, the project has been delayed due to financial issues.
In February 2017, the Philippine government, with the endorsement of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), is expecting official development assistance (ODA) and other forms of funding from the Chinese government.
Feasibility study activities are underway.
