Adani Power Dahej Ltd (APDL), a subsidiary of Adani Power Ltd, is planning to undertake the thermal power plant project in Gujarat, India.
The project involves the construction of a 3,200MW thermal power plant on a 340ha of land. It comprises four coal-based thermal units of 800MW each.
The project will include the construction of a powerhouse, a substation, water cooling units, and access roads, the installation of turbines, generators and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.
The project will be implemented on the base of super critical technology in order to generate electricity with environment sustainability by saving fuel and less emissions.
Fichtner Consulting and L&T - Sargent & Lundy have been appointed as consulting engineer, Cengrs Geotechnica Pvt. Ltd. as Geo technical consultant and Greenc India Consulting Pvt Ltd as environmental consultant for the project.
APDL issued Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) for the internal competitive bidding for the project.
In March 2011, Electrogen Infra was appointed as the EPC contractor.
On September 18, 2014, APDL has requested the planning board for installing the Conveyor System through Dahej SEZ for the proposed project.
In July 2015, APDL aims to develop the large scale thermal power generation by change in configuration of super critical technology from 2640MW (4X660MW) to 3,200MW (4X800MW) and submitted Environmental Impact Assessment report was submitted for the development of the project.
