Argent Kempfield Pty Ltd's (AKPL) a wholly owned subsidiary of Argent Minerals Ltd plans to develop silver mine in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia.
The project involves the development of a silver mine with a production capacity of 1.76 MTPA on 1,437ha of land and being developed in phases.
The first phase includes heap leaching some 8.8 million tonnes of mainly oxide and transitional material to produce over 9.5 million ounces of silver and 15,000 ounces of gold.
It includes the construction of a two open cut complex, a waste rock emplacement, a processing plant, a heap leach pad and a 33kv transmission line from the essential energy power grid north of Neville.
The project includes the construction of an office area, run-on-mine pad, a crushing plant, associated precious metals recovery infrastructure, a bullion-room, site offices, workshops, power plant, laydown areas, ablution facilities, stores, car parking, a haul road system and a waste management system.
Geoff Cunningham Natural Resource Consultants Pty Ltd has been appointed as an environmental consultant and H&S Consultants Pty Ltd as a technical consultant.
In October 2012, R W Corkery & Co Pty Ltd prepared revised preliminary environmental assessment (RPEA) for the project.
On April 8, 2013, AKPL submitted environmental impact statement (EIS) to the NSW Government Department of Planning & Infrastructure.
On November 25, 2016, AKPL commenced drilling work on the site.
AKPL is in the process of preparing EIS as well as feasible study activities on the first phase of the project are underway.
