Desalination is mainly used for municipal application, and so it accounts for about 68% of the global desalination capacity.

The market is further segmented by geography into – North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific (APAC), South America, and Middle East & Africa. Middle East & Africa is expected to show significant growth during the forecast period, because of many large-scale projects around the Red Sea and in the Gulf areas.
