IDC FutureScape: Worldwide Governments 2016 Predictions

This IDC study uses the IDC FutureScape framework and outlines key recommendations for government CIOs and other top-level executives who need to anticipate the best course for IT strategic planning. The framework begins by assessing some of the key external drivers that have the potential to shape business directions. Then the methodology develops a number of IT predictions, translating insights into the actions CIOs can take to address wide-ranging developments. Within the next two years, government executives are expected to undertake several initiatives that reach across multiple strategic areas. Based on our analysis of many of these efforts, IDC lists our top 10 predictions."The IDC FutureScape methodology can help governments identify key issues that they will need to deal with in the months ahead," said IDC Government Insights Research Director Shawn P. McCarthy. "And it can help IT leaders and agency executives understand some of the ideas and tools they can tap into as they address this changing IT environment."
