Dell Technologies Introduces PowerScale: A Robust Unstructured Data Offering for Edge-Core-Cloud

This IDC Market Perspective discusses how the recent announcement of Dell's PowerScale harnesses the success of Isilon's OneFS and Dell PowerEdge servers to cater to the existing and new requirements and help customers build a robust and modern infrastructure. IDC expects the file and object unstructured data market to reach 849EB by 2024. This massive data growth is driven by growth within the datacenter as well as several new initiatives such as IoT, artificial intelligence (AI), and analytics and spans across the edge-core-cloud. "Dell EMC has been a leader in the unstructured data storage market for several years and with the latest series of announcements, customers can leverage the power of OneFS and PowerEdge servers across deployment locations (edge-core-cloud)," said Amita Potnis, research director, Content Infrastructure at IDC. "Dell's strategic vision with PowerScale brings to market a robust portfolio addressing the needs of unstructured data for various industries and workloads."
