This IDC Buyer Case Study assesses the digital transformation journey undertaken by Spanish banking group BBVA. It focuses on the new investments, structures, and skills the bank has put in place as part of that journey. It also highlights IDC's research in this area, particularly in terms of the maturity of organizations as they focus on becoming relevant in the digital era.
Very few companies could say that they have completed their digital transformation journey. However, certain best practices have started to emerge, and some of the activities that BBVA has been focusing on in the first year of operating its digital banking unit could definitely be placed in that category.
