Automated Software Quality Vendor Profile: Combining Portfolio Across Areas, HP Evolves Quality StrategyPublished by: IDC Published: Dec. 2, 2012 - 8 Pages Table of Contents
AbstractThis IDC Vendor Profile is one in a series of IDC documents that examine automated software quality solutions and provides both vendor analysis and customer reference context for technology adoption. This Vendor Profile assesses the ASQ strategy and position of HP, the established revenue leader with a broad portfolio of products targeting areas that encompass requirements from performance and load testing, requirements, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), code analysis and hand off to deployment. Here, we discuss HP's breadth and depth of product capability, partnerships, and service that position the company well across multiple categories for ASQ analysis. We position HP within this product category and relative to trends in user adoption for the dynamic load testing for ASQ SaaS and cloud, software quality analysis and measurement (SQAM), and enterprise ASQ markets. We do so in the context of an overall economy that remains volatile and demands efficient access to software quality and deployment. We also include summaries of two HP customer references — a major airline company using HP's traditional software functional, load, and stress testing and combined ALM 11 (HP's new release in 2H12) and testing on SaaS to leverage those benefits on the part of a major healthcare provider — and the emerging use of coordinated ASQ adoption for both pre-deployment quality and deployment.
