The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is planning to undertake the expansion of a highway in Texas, the US.
The project involves the construction of additional access roads between SH 288 and SH 35. It includes the construction of a 9.6km six-lane highway, access roads, pedestrian walkways, culverts and related facilities, and the installation of signals and safety systems.
In May 2015, TxDOT conducted an open house for the public which include exhibits including schematics and maps of the project. Three preliminary schematics is displayed with other environmental study boards including information related to the project such as will communicate the need and scope.
TxDOT is conducting Environmental Assessment (EA) on the project. TxDOT is anticipating the environmental clearance on the project by the third quarter of 2018 with right of way acquisition expected to begin in the first quarter of 2020.
A public hearing on the EA is expected to be held in the fourth quarter of 2017.
Construction works are expected to commence in 2021.
