Tereos is developing the Guarani Sugar and Ethanol Processing Plants Expansion project in Brazil.

The project involves the construction of a processing unit, a warehouse, substations and a transmission unit and the installation machinery.

The investment on the project will be implemented in two steps, the first half of the funds will be used to increase the operational capacity and the remaining to increase the energy co-generation.

The US$238 will be invested for the expansion of the production capacity of sugar processing plant from 21 million tons to 24.5 million tons per year and the production capacity ethanol processing unit to 195 million liters annually.

The remaining US$238 million will be invested for the expansion of power generation unit, which generates electric energy through the burning of sugar cane bagasse. The power generation capacity will be increased 259 GWh to 1172 GWh per year.

Tereos acquired Petrobras stake in Guarani plant.

In February 2017, developer has released the US$ 20 million to increase the grinding capacity of sugarcane in Tanabi plant.
