Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) and San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E), subsidiaries of Sempra Energy (SE), are jointly planning to undertake the construction of a natural gas pipeline in California, the US.
The project involves the construction of a 153km natural gas pipeline in Southern California. The project will be developed in two segments.
The pipeline would stretch southward for 105km from Adelanto to Moreno Valley, and it would connect with a pipeline that runs for 48km east to Whitewater, in the direction of Palm Springs.
The project will include the construction of pumping stations, storage facilities and related infrastructure facilities, redevelopment of a compressor station at Adelanto, the installation of equipment, and the laying of pipelines.
In May 2015, SoCalGas and SDG&E have submitted an application to build a new North-South Pipeline project.
On July 14, 2016, California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) rejected the planning application stating more cost-effective alternatives to be present for supporting the utility's southern natural gas system.
Planning activities are underway.
The project involves the construction of a 144km natural gas pipeline from Adelanto to Whitewater in California, the US.
The US$621 million project includes the following:
