National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is planning to construct the Dindigul to Karnataka Border project via Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, India.

The project involves the construction of 268km highway road. It includes the construction of four major bridges, 30 minor bridges, vehicular and passenger underpasses, and road over bridges and as many as six bypass roads between Dindigul and Coimbatore. The bridges will run over Shanmuganadi river near Palani and Amaravathi River near Madathukulam.

The Dindugul-Coimbatore portion of the road, which is a 155km stretch, will be four-lane and the rest will be a two-lane road.

As of June 2017, NHAI is in the process of preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR).

Scope

The project involves the construction of 268km highway from Dindigul to Karnataka Border via Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, India.

The US$486 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of four major bridges

2. Construction of 30 minor bridges

3. Construction of vehicular and passenger underpasses

4. Construction of the toll infrastructural facilities

5. Construction of road over bridges

6. Construction of six bypass roads
