The Ministry of Transport Vietnam (MoT) is planning to undertake the construction of an expressway in Vietnam.
The project involves the construction of a two-lane, 121km expressway connecting Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa. It will be executed into two sections - the first from Ninh Binh to Dong Xuan commune in Thanh Hoa and the second from Dong Xuan to Nghi Son commune in the same province.
It includes the construction of pedestrian ways, viaducts, bridges, flyovers and related infrastructure, and the installation of traffic signals and overhead sign structures.
The project is expected to get finance from the Official Development Assistance (ODA) funds.
The project is planned to be implemented through public-private partnership (PPP) mode.
Transport Engineering Design Inc. has been appointed as engineering design consultant.
In 2010, preliminary feasibility study work was completed.
In August 2015, the project received funding of US$813 million.
In December 2016, the project received planning approvals from MoT.
Pre-design activities are underway.
