The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) is planning to upgrade a highway section from Aizawl to Tuipang on NH 54 in Mizoram, India.
The project involves the construction of a 380km two-lane highway. It includes the construction of road separators, culverts, interchanges, bridges and other related infrastructure, and the installation of traffic signals and signs.
The project will be developed in three sections divided into eight packages. The first section will comprise two packages and will include the construction of the first 125km (km 0-125) highway section. The second section will comprise three packages and will include the construction of the second 125km (km 126-250). The final section will include two packages and will include the construction of the rest of the highway (km 250-380).
National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) has been entrusted to develop the project. Funding for the project will be obtained through a loan from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
A contract to undertake the topographical and geological survey work has been awarded to BPC Consultant India Pvt Ltd.
In March 2017, the final Detailed Project Report (DPR) were submitted.
In July 2017, topographical and geological survey and proposal for approval for forest clearance underway.
EOI document for consultancy services has been prepared and under perusal and bid documents for civil construction work is being prepared and is expected to be issued by the end of August 2017.
