Minemakers and Australian Transport and Energy Corridor Ltd (ATEC) are undertaking the Wonarah Phosphate to Tennant Creek Rail Link project in Northern Territory, Australia.
The project involves the construction of a 250km rail link connecting the Wonarah project to nearby Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory to access standard gauge rail link.
In January 2008, Minemakers and Australian Transport and Energy Corridor Ltd (ATEC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for financial study of project.
The stage I of the feasibility study was completed in 2009. Subject to Stage 1 outcomes, Stage II is planned to be a more detailed assessment in preparation for a formal submission to governments for an exclusive mandate to build and operate the rail link.
ATEC will manage the study, the approvals process, financing and construction of the rail link.
As of November 22, 2016, planning activities are underway.
