On March 11, 2014, Davis Construction Corporation was appointed as pre-construction contractor.
JFKC has contributed US$50 million for the project.
On December 4, 2014, ground breaking ceremony was held on the project. In October 2015, construction activities are commenced.
On July 14, 2016, National Capital Planning Commission and the U.S. Commission on Fine Arts approved the pedestrian bridge linking Kennedy Center to the Potomac River.
Construction works are underway and are scheduled to be completed in 2018.
