The Government of Veneto (GoV) and Comune di Padova (CP) are planning to undertake the construction of Padua Hospital in Veneto comune, Italy.
The project involves the construction of a new hospital with a gross floor area of 500,000m2. It includes the construction of administrative buildings, an emergency center, a new interdisciplinary intensive care unit and an intermediate care station (IMC), outpatient wards, class rooms to support the educational requirements, and research center to support the medical analysis.
It also includes the construction of infrastructure facilities like access roads to have a proper connectivity with the city center and its vicinity, water collection and storing systems, water disposal area, electricity transmission system and other required facilities.
The new Padua hospital project is expected to cost US$740 million, of which US$600 million will be utilized for the construction of hospital and US$140 million to link the surrounding areas with the hospital. An additional US$149 million will be spent on technology and equipment procurement.
The project is funded through public funds, a combination of European Investment Bank (EIB), regional organizations and Italian central government funds.
GoV and CP are in the process of seeking funds for the project.
On May 26, 2017, a tender was issued to appoint an architect for the project with a submission deadline on June 28, 2017.
