Dongbu Power Dangjin Corporation (DPDC) is planning to build the Dongbu Green Power Plant in South Chungcheong Province, South Korea.
The project involves the construction of a 1,000MW coal-fired power plant comprising two units of 500MW each.
It includes the construction of a cooling tower, a flue-gas stack, transformers, a coal storage facility, a waste-water treatment plant and a control building, the installation of heat recovery steam generators, steam turbines, generators, condensers and cooling water system, ash handling system, and scrubbers, and the laying of water transmission pipelines and transmission lines.
On June 4, 2012, the project received approval from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE).
In June 2012, before the acquisition of Dongbu Engineering & Construction's stake by SK Gas and Korea Development Bank, DPDC selected state-owned Korea Development Bank (KDB) as the lead manager of project financing (PF). The KDB will be offering consulting services to Dongbu Power Ltd on setting up business plans, establishing capital financing structures, and developing financial arrangements for the project.
In September 2012, Alstom was awarded a contract to deliver two steam turbine and generator sets for ultra supercritical coal-fired power plant.
KEPCO Engineering & Construction Company has been appointed as front-end engineering design (FEED) contractor.
In April 2017, Korea East-West Power Co. and SK Gas signed a memorandum of understanding with Dangjin Eco Power Corp. and SK D&D Co..
