Yellow Pages Market Research Reports & Industry Analysis

Yellow Pages has the appearance of a brand name but actually refers to any listing of private businesses, and government offices, which has been arranged by the product or service provided. The name provides a clue that these type of directory products are often printed on yellow paper in their sections related to business where as the white pages would hold the non-commercial listings. Several companies provide such directories, many compete for the top U.S. Markets. Even in non-English speaking countries, the expression Yellow Pages is often used, and in fact in non-English countries it is more common to have one single yellow page provider which has trademarked the use of ‘yellow pages’.

It is common to think of yellow pages as merely a print book, but this has been undergoing transformation since the arrival of the internet. It is now common for companies marketing a ‘yellow pages’ product to also sell online advertisements. Many yellow pages companies are developing online directories and the term ‘yellow pages’ or ‘local search’ is used to describe these entities as well. Increasingly, the yellow pages is also entering social media, and developing websites where users can add information and rate various businesses listed in its directory.

The yellow pages industry is a modern one, and an evolving one, and reports in this category will cover the companies who develop products.
